Our Building

The school’s home is 135 Weybosset Street in the heart of Downtown Providence. Located at the corner of Dorrance and Weybosset Streets, and just two blocks from Kennedy Plaza, number 135 Weybosset Street is a retail and office building built in the 1920’s. From its opening in the 1920’s until the late 1970’s our school space was occupied by a Weintraub’s Fabric Store. In the 1980’s and 1990’s it was the women’s clothing store “Hit or Miss” and since then the building has been a Katherine Gibbs school and a Blue Cross/Blue Shield office as well. The school occupies 18,000 square feet on four levels and the facility received complete renovation during the summers of 2013 and 2015. Our neighbors include Johnson and Wales Administration, the main JWU campus green, Alex and Ani, U-Melt restaurant and the Providence Performing Arts Center.
